Teaching Philosophy
Music teaches us how to become the person we want to be.
Teaching has always been one of my greatest passions. I believe learning an instrument is an education in discipline, perseverance, concentration, creativity, and courage — it teaches us how to approach something difficult, how to respond when we struggle, and how to keep moving forward when progress doesn't come easily. My goal is not simply to give students more things to practice, but to teach them how to practice, until they eventually become their own teachers.
Student Growth
One of the most rewarding parts of teaching has been watching my students grow, not only as cellists but as capable, confident people. Former students have gone on to study at schools including MIT, Stanford, Harvard, Rice, and Juilliard.
Studio Welcome
My studio welcomes cellists ages 5 to 80 — beginners, All-State hopefuls, and adults returning to the instrument. Because every student learns differently, each lesson is built around the individual: high standards, real belief, and the patience to do it right.
